Frozen Gold is a soft serve ice cream restaurant owned by Atomic Provisions which is also home to Denver Biscuit Company, Fat Sully's Pizza and Atomic Cowboy.
Frozen Gold's ice cream creations are loved by all, and the Ice Cream Scientist is the leader responsible for their creation, preparation and service. This unique Ice Cream Scientist position is a great career opportunity for someone looking to grow their career with a growing, proven and award winning company.
Fundamentals:
Genuine, innate love for the creation and execution of Frozen Gold ice cream offerings
Expert artistic culinary creativity to channel your pastry chef experience in the design of eye-appealing, delicious ice cream presentations
Contribute to creating a culture of legendary ice cream and community
Meet all health department standards for safe food handling
Demonstrate high level of creativity, productivity and hard work
Teach the preparation and service of ice cream products according to procedures and standards within time guidelines, recipes and customer specifications
Interview, hire, evaluate, reward and discipline/discharge ice cream personnel as appropriate
Control food costs by establishing purchasing specifications, product storage requirements, standardization recipes and waste control procedures
Operate equipment safely determine by position and OSHA regulations
Maintain food storage, receiving, stocking and rotating as par levels dictate
Maintain performance standards and motivate teams through positive role modeling
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 year commercial restaurant kitchen ice cream and/or pastry chef experience required
Minimum of 1 year kitchen management experience preferred
Exceptional pastry chef creativity to design and produce eye-catching, revolutionary ice cream creations
Expert knowledge and attentiveness about ice cream creation ingredients
Strong expertise in kitchen hygiene and food safety
Working knowledge of all restaurant equipment including but not limited to: knives, slicers, mixers, salamander, stoves, ovens and Hobart mixers
Ability to work and communicate well with guests, subordinates and management
Bring a spirit of collaboration, positivity and support to the entire team
Organized and detail oriented
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Physical Requirements:
100% Stand or walk
80% Communicate with other line positions
75% Work at approx. 36" tables/stovees and reach with approx. 36"
75% Reach 6" to overhead, bend, stoop and wipe
60% Perform job a continuous high pace, under pressure, while maintaining quality and speed standards
50% Lift and carry sacks, boxes and product up to 50 pounds from floor to above waist level, approx. 20 feet and sometimes involving stairs
Training Requirements:
Culinary education preferred
